Impeller Pumps
Ideal for transferring liquids into a high-pressure area such as a bottling machine or filter, a Centrifugal Pump works much like an Impeller Pump, but the impeller does not touch the edge of the housing.
This means that when flow is free, the liquids are carried by the momentum of the impeller through to the exit of the pump.
However, if there is a build-up of pressure on the exit of the pump, for example if the liquid is being pushed through a filter, the liquid will remain inside the housing of the pump until the pressure decreases.
Centrifugal Pumps
Eccentric Screw Pumps
An Eccentric Screw Pump is ideal for transferring thicker materials, such as potato mash or grape juice with must.
Typically with a lower capacity than the other pumps, an eccentric screw 'carries' the mixture through the pump which in turn pushes it through any piping before entering the next processing stage, usually a tank or a filter.
Designed to move large quantities of product, an Impeller Pump is an effective way to transfer liquids to and from areas of equal pressure, such as between tanks.
All Core Impeller Pumps are fitted with stainless steel impellers as standard, which hugely increase the lifespan of an Impeller Pump as stainless steel cannot warp or corrode.
